Madhavi Kutty

Her "My Story" was a very refreshing read. Its very nice to be a imaginary person - dream and live, and you dont clearly know what is dream and what is reality... Started reading her next book - collection of short stories.... Also bought "Alchemist"..... So back to books and movies.....!

>>>>>> Saturday Movies <<<<<<<<

Was virtually @ Forum this saturday. Saw two movies - "Newyork" for morning show, and "Transformers" for first show.

"Newyork" is a brave attempt. Casting is superb. First half was very interesting - post 9/11 life of indian muslims in america. But second-half execution was weak, and it resembled a average hindi movie.

"Transformers" - animation is superb, but i wish the film was 40 minutes shorter. Megatron dying and living, Optimus dying and then living... why show all the same stuff again and again... Do some good graphics and animations.. and entertain for 1.5 hours. Never make these movies this longer.

Was looking for "Harry Potter" tickets for sunday. But didnt get. Is Bangalore under recession ? No way - Forums and Malls and Multiplexes are full... and eating outlets you have to wait in queue to find a place. Recession was never here............

"Ente Kadha"

Started reading Madhavi Kutty's "Ente Kadha" - her "fictional" autobiography. I am immersed in that book. She gave me the freedom to dream again........

God ( whether he belongs to whichever caste or religion ) bless her......

Orkut, Facebook and now Twitter

I moved out of HI5 when it started corrupting me, and now moving out of orkut when i started corrupting it. Went to facebook, and started using it. Nobody reads my blogs, facebook is a way to force people listen to what i say. I hope to keep facebook for known friends only.

Moved to twitter now just out of curiosity. A delhi nair Shashi Tharoor is active in it. So why not a real changanacherry nair ?

Veruthe Oru Bharya, Innathe Chintha vishayam, Vinodhayathra, Bhagya Devatha

Except for vinodhayathra, i saw all the other three films in subject line recently -
"Innathe chintha vishayam" i wanted to see despite bad reviews, as i liked "vinodha yathra". vinodha yathra many didnt like. but i liked it. Like Vinodh ( Dileep) in the movie who learnt a ot of from Meera, i also learnt some tips and truths in life. But "innathe chinthavishayam" is a junk movie. Nothing in that. Some made up story.
"Bhagya Devatha" is a nice film, narrated in a simple manner. beauty of kuttanad is fully picturised. I have seen many people marrying inorder to start a career or business by getting dowry from wife's side. And Jayaram lives in that role very well. "Veruthe Oru Bharya" i immediately bought a VCD, as i had missed that film. And "Bhagya devatha" gave me the necessary momentum to see that film. And first half is narrated very well. Gopika is truly great. But second half disappointed me. It didnt have a good script. You dont have to make the husband a mental person for husband-wife reunion to take place. I saw the second half in 10 mins.

Being Proactive

Being proactive is the most difficult things.......
(1) You have to take responsibility of all the things .....
Bull shit ^*&^(*
(2) You have to avoid victim syndrome
F(*&(*
(3) You need to know what you actually need...
Options kill.....
(4) You need follow the compass.... towards the right direction
My compass is damaged......

"Taare Zameen Par" therapy

Lachu is being given a different copy of the same text books as days of this school year go by, but she is not learning. Now she has three sets of text books. Anyway i am not the culprit behind that therapy. She also gets a new "set" of pencils every alternate days. Poor kid.
I tried "7 habits for happy kids" on her. NO USE ;) And now made her see "Taare Zameen Par". Finally it has effects. Today she wrote "boat" as "dooa" in class notebooks. Trying hard to imitate the hero-boy in that movie! Curse me, and my methods.

My Life Sucks!

7 Habits For Me

First I read 7 habits for "aged people", then tried "teenagers". Nothing changed. So now bought "7 habits for happy kids.. Great stories. Lachu liked the stories. But she is happy as she is, and just want the stories. Dont want to make those habits..

But if i now say "i am bored", she asks me "Are you like sammy?" The hero in the first story who is bored, bored and bored, and wants others to help him out. But finally in the story he realizes no use in complaining, and only he can help him out. Be Proactive!

But i cant. I need to complain. The best place is this blog. I AM BORED, BORED, BORED........

Travels..

Travelling every week these days.. I used to like being alone.. I used to like dreaming.. So being in bus or train I used to enjoy a lot. Nowadays not enjoying that.. On the way home, may be its just tensions on how to make lachu do all the home work; and on back to office tensions on clearing up all the pending work..

This week in train, it was totally frustrating. Read the magazines "Open" and "Tehelka" as soon as i got into ( These days not buying "India today" or "Outlook" ).

Observing different types of people is interesting.. So started observing them.

A hi-fi "north-indian" look, malayalee family was there speaking english. From the minute they boarded train started eating cookies ,wafers, and all the snacks forcing me to have early dinner.

Some "un-reserved" people were also there travelling to "erode" and "salem". They knew that its a "reserved" compartment only after boarding. ( Thanks to Velu's and Balu's all compartments of Kochu Velli express are so dirty that nobody can identify as its a reserved compartment. Hope Ahamed Sahib will make a change for kerala). After knowing that its a reserved compartment, they went to non-reserved compartment but came back soon as the non-reserved was too full.

The person who was sitting in the sideberth was occupying only 20% of his lower berth. So 3 more people occupied his berth. And it was fun seeing him pushed by non-reserved passengers and the way he co-operates. I was like this perhaps 5-6 years back. Now life has made me arrogant enough so that i can thrash people if they try to intrude to my area. Anyway the non-reserved people won and our poor fellow was having only 1/4th of the berth.

When the TTE came nonreserved ladies started the drama.. They told him its the first time they are travelling on the train, and dont know the difference btw these.. Anyway the next stop is only salem and TTE or them doesnt have any other option.. So the ladies stayed. Since the precedent is laid, the unreserved men in sideberth also didnt have to argue to TTE.

After the TTE came , attittude of non-reserved people to the reserved gentleman in sideberth increased. They now only came to know the man who they were kicking is the owner of the berth. The kicking still continued, but with more respect now.

At Salem TTE kicked out all the unreserved ( non-reserved - i dont know which one is correcr, i keep changing the usage ) were driven out of the compartment. It started boring for me. I tried to sleep in my upper berth. But sleep was not coming.... It took me another 3-4 hours to sleep.

But once sleep is achieved, you have peace, till i woke up when it was nearing allapuzha station... I wanted a Tea, luckily I got a Tea and allapuzha and Paper at Kollam. Got to read "Indian Express" after along time. That paper is dead boring now. Lost its charm. And it didnt have the results of India , WestIndies T20 match also..

Soon it reached Kochu Velli and another boring interesting journey come to and end.
