Past life I was a rich land lord and used to abuse and torture a lot of people... Due to the past life karma, this time they came as my wife and in-laws and parents and other relatives and are torturing me here and there !!!!
Hallo, I am Anoop G.Better known as Poonaji among friends. Dont be confused. Poona is just the reverse of Anoop. My friends have great respect for me. So they call me Poonaji ( just like Nehruji, Mahatmaji). And I prefer this to my other names.

End of world thoughts...
Lachu was anxious after too much discussions on Dec 21st and end of world Mayan predictions.. She was asking what is going to happen.. I said everything is going to end and asked her what she wants to do in the remaining 2-3 hours...
She said she will pray to God not to end this world. But that was not possible I argued. The decision was taken long back by omiscient God and although he is omnipotent to change things usually he does not do that ( even for worst kind of rapes and child abuses God does not avoid those as Eve ate that apple and since then evil is also part and parcel of our equations..).
I pushed her to know her wishes again.. Again she wanted to pray to God not to end this world and said she will cry and pray and that may have an effect on God.
I agreed, but asked her to imagine that the world will come to an end and say something more funny and interesting rather than prayers. This time she said - she will see DIL TO PAGAL HAI again and started seeing. She is seeing it for the 50th time and another shah rukh khan has emerged in my house.

Lachu's basics
One day ( as usual :-) ) people around me were convincing how use-less I am in managing these worldly material things.. I was feeling bad and complained to lachu. She said " dont feel bad on what others are saying.. If others are telling you use-less then they are use-less..." And after a big pause she told me " dont come to bother me with these small small things again..." Good advice.
One week later again I was bothered by the same comments. I went to my motivator lachu and complained... She explained the same things patiently once again.." dont feel bad on what others are saying.. If others are telling you use-less then they are use-less..." And then scolded me " I HAD TOLD U NOT TO COME TO ME WITH THESE SMALL THINGs"..

Brahma sutra - Casteism
http://www.bharatadesam.com/spiritual/brahma_sutra/brahma_sutra_sankara_34107.php
The Sûdras are not qualified for that reason also that Smriti prohibits their hearing the Veda, their studying the Veda, and their understanding and performing Vedic matters. The prohibition of hearing the Veda is conveyed by the following passages: 'The ears of him who hears the Veda are to be filled with (molten) lead and lac,' and 'For a Sûdra is (like) a cemetery, therefore (the Veda) is not to be read in the vicinity of a Sûdra.' From this latter passage the prohibition of studying the Veda results at once; for how should he study Scripture in whose vicinity it is not even to be read? There is, moreover, an express prohibition (of the Sûdras studying the Veda). 'His tongue is to be slit if he pronounces it; his body is to be cut through if he preserves it.' The prohibitions of hearing and studying the Veda already imply the prohibition of the knowledge and performance of Vedic matters; there are, however, express prohibitions also, such as 'he is not to impart knowledge to the Sûdra,' and 'to the twice-born belong study, sacrifice, and the bestowal of gifts.'--From those Sûdras, however, who, like Vidura and 'the religious hunter,' acquire knowledge in consequence of the after effects of former deeds, the fruit of their knowledge cannot be withheld,

Veri - Veri = zero Veri
Veri has to be subtracted with Veri.. Only then there will be No Veri. Whenever the discussions are without logic I support only my people.. What is "my people" is depending on context...
1. When its a Tamil-Malayalee issue I am on Malayalee side
2. When its a Atheist - Religion fight these days I am on atheist side..
3. When its a Muslim-Hindu issue ofcourse on Hindu side
etc etc.. The only place I dont support my people is
4. When its a Ezhava-Nair issue I support Ezhavas.. I dont like these stupid Nairs. I hate to be one among them.
I started receiving lots of Tamil views on Mulla(i)-periyar during afternoon discussions:
1st Lecture minutes ( long before):
1. All RAW and national security top posts are from Kerala. They gave false advises on Srilankan Tamil issue and thats why Srilankan Tamilians are suffering. This is the reason why Mulla periyar issues come in between.
2nd Lecture minutes ( before Dam 999 release )
1. Dam 999 movie is funded by Kerala government
2. Kerala wants water for Hydro electric power project in Idukki
3rd Lecture minutes
1. 5 districts in Tamil Nadu will become desert if mullaperiyar water does not reach Tamil nadu
4th Lecture minutes
1. We are paying only 6 lakhs per year for Water from Mullaperiyar. Even a software engineer can pay.
Last Lecture minutes:
1. There is a talk that Idukki should become part of Tamil Nadu.. ( Thereby if people die it will be people from Tamil Nadu who will be dying)
2. Kerala assembly is now 80-78 and re-election is occuring in one constituency because of a death. The Mullaperiyar row is for election purpose..
No where there is any talk about Safety and the danger if Dam breaks. In Kerala there is no ban for Tamil products or Chennai silks showrooms nor there is any attack against Tamilians. The status quo is maintained on water supply to Tamil Nadu. Its just that now people are afraid of a Dam collapse and they need an answer.

No Veri
Had no time for Mullaperiyar investigation.. only focus was on eating...... These are the things I heard on Mullaperiyar subject in Kerala.
* PJ Joseph and Kerala congress is taking advantage of Mullaperiyar issue
* Vaiko and PJ Joseph are of the same category
* Dam is not in danger, it is a political conspiracy
* Dam is in Danger. But everybody will listen to only Tamil Nadu.
etc etc
Anyway there is no Veri.
And people are listening to and dancing to Tamil songs for new year. But I didnt see any Tamil films this time - Saw two malayalam, one hindi and one english.
Mullaperiyar should be a symbol of co-operation and harmony. Periyar is a river flowing through Kerala and has been supplying water to 5 districts of tamil nadu for last 120 years.. and Keralites eat most of the vegetables cultivated from those 5 districts.. Let Veri go and Chiri come.....

Mullaperiyar Veri
Whether Dam will collapse and kill people in Kerala is not sure.. But definitely its making life of Keralites in Tamil Nadu difficult now ( as per malayalam news paper reports.. )
Its funny how people are fighting over the net. And too much abusive remarks.. Why we are complaining about australian racism and all ?
One thing I am not able to understand --- Kerala states Dam Safety as issue, and Tamil Nadu has fear of Kerala re-negotiating contracts ?? ( I still dont understand Tamil Nadu fears ). Its very easy to settle the issue - See if the dam is in real danger - bring experts - and do it with RED ZONE URGENCY.
Anyway I trust more VS and Chandy than Karunanidhi/Jayalalitha/Vaiko brand.
Decided to study more on the issue during the december vacation. Will be back with more details !!!

Saturday night fevers
We met at Srini's house at saturday night for a small get together. After having Pizzas and "Cranberry juice mix with honey" we wanted to have a coffee. Night 12'o clock - all options from Hosur to Mysore were discussed. And finally we decided to fly to Leela Palace - Barista place. There were 4 bullets but what chance they have when my Ferrari is there. We trouble shooted through outer ring road service roads and from Bellandur took some strange curvy small roads with lot of gutters to reach Wind tunnel.
Cops were waiting for us after we passed HP office - But I was totally at my inner peace... Cops asked in kannada, but i will give its english translation as i dont remember exact kannada:
Cops: where are u going ?
Me: Windtunnel
Mani: for Coffee
I gave my driving license and other car papers
Cops: where are you going ?
Me: HP office
Mani: for coffee
I gave my HP ID card...
Cops: where are you going ?
Me: Whitefield
Mani: for coffee
Cops wondering, asked me: Are you drunk ?
Me: No sir, coming from HP office
They allowed us to go , probably because of respect to my Ferrari's age. Even KL registration doesnt matter. We anyway are the good guys.
There were some confusions in taking a right turn at Leela palace. I took couple of U turns and lefts and rights to get into the side road of Leela palace. Dont remember exactly what happened.
And finally parked near to the "No Parking" board. Get down and srini, anand hurried for the coffee. Chetan was waiting there. Starting walking I realized that I locked the car with key inside. DOOMED. We started removing everything near the windows of the car to open it. And now Police again - a police bike came and they seemed to be very happy to find five car thieves. But somehow they believed us seeing the car key inside. They asked us to break the window, but we didnt as duplicate keys were in my house.
And after having coffee in leela palace at 1am went to pick up the keys ( thanks to chetan and his bike).. 1 am in Bangalore winter was shivering.. Entered the house at night as a thief without waking up anybody.. and somehow found the duplicate key. On the way also we were stopped by police ( but did let us go even without asking for papers ).
Now with two keys in my ferrari we ventured through the difficult roads near EGL to escape police ( my 150cc Ferrari car is suitable for race courses and not for EGL terrains). After reaching Srini's home drank 1 litre apple juice and slept. Morning had plans to go to Shivaji nagar and eat biriyani.. ( there is a place where u get biriyani from 5.30am to 6.30am). That didnt happen. But even without that saturday night was colurful for me and Ferrari and others. And now sunday I have fever...
Notes 1 - Last time I forgot car keys inside was in chennai and that time it was worse - the ignition was ON at that time. So certainly I have improvements :)
Notes 2 - All names have been changed to fake names for providing privacy :)

Toilet flush philosophy
Life is like a toilet ( be it indian or european or american). All people who have access to you come and shit at you... some after shitting clean it properly.. some do it just for the sake... some doesnt clean also after shitting...
Anyway each time they flush you get a new freshness of life.. Life gets a new start.. a new beginning..
What best you can hope is the ability for the toilet to flush itself.. take shits is the purpose of life.. that cannot be avoided..
Toilet flush philosophy is a copyrighted term - Poonaji Inc - Patent has been applied..

Present Inevitable
And then when you are flying around your past and future incidents come which make you really feel your present moment.
Graphite India junction 6:30pm Friday - one of the busiest - and your car doesnt start after waiting in the junction for 15 mins for signals to appear green. The omnipotent and omniscient may have known, but not me. With curses from other cars and vans, and curses from inside my own car each second was tough - but then angels came in form of a police and a santro car owner who helped me drag the ferrari to the leftmost end from the right most..
After waiting for 1.5 hrs mechanic came and he could somehow start... The car is not yet ready , they have dismantled and trying to figure out which parts this time...
My holy relationship with this shit will come to an end soon. Two shits cannot live together. Time for a new one.

Butterfly effect
Was fully immersed in movie "butterfly effect". The guy wants to change his present, have special ability to go back to past and change small events which changes his future completely.. And the interesting thing each time some thing else gets screwed up...
Though I dont have the ability to change anything in past.. I do have this bad habit of going to past and correct small events and live with the changed events to days, months and years ( it happens really fast in dreams )..... Anyway each time I comes back to the same present....
Another wonderful hobby I have is to go back to past and see how events have shaped up... go back and see how languages have developed, how cultures evolved... My imagination is kind of good.. But dont have enough vocabulary and time to write all of it down.. But will try to write some of it later..
Other movies saw:
Indian Rupee ( malayalam) and 7 aum arivu ( tamizhu).. Both watchable..

What is Life ?
This was a question which came during our last trek ( means my first trek, hopefully not the last one ).
The question was posed to me first, I passed :)
First guy: Life is a reflection of good and bad memories, and the goal is to have more good memories.
Second guy: Is about time and priorities. Very less time, and lots of interesting things to do. Only time is constraint. Make best use of the time.
Third guy: Learn from past, and live life to the fullest.
For me - Perception of life is different each moment... some times i think as a saint, some times as a victim, sometimes as a hero.... I dont have a clear answer... But i do want to explore life more.........

Three interesting movies
Traffic ( English ): Nice inter winding stories related to war on drugs - One dedicated ( yet corrupt) officer tries to expose the drug mafia and the involvement of his boss. One judge heads the war on drugs, and also finds out that his own daughter is an addict. One rich-social wife gets surprised to know that her husband is a drug dealer when he gets arrested, but does everything to retain his drug empire. Two officers are after her and her husband wanting to expose the drug dealings. Nice movie.
Usual Suspects: Five criminals are arrested on a case involving Guns traffic. They get angry on the wrong accusations and plots revenge against police. Soon they are hired by the never seen dreadful Keysen Soze for a job. They all have done wrong to Keysen Soze unknowingly in past and this is a chance for them to make amends. They go on the mission killing everyone abroad a ship ( which turns to be suicidal also) - and with only two survivors. Who is Keysen Soze and who is the mastermind are the questions which are solved at the end.
Shawshank Redemption: A banker is accused of kiling his wife and killer and sentenced to two life terms. He comes to shawshank prison where .. ( I am too bored. I never write blogs this longer.. ). Nice movie. See it. Fear gives you prisonhood, Hope brings you freedom!!!
Hope and Dreams are the best thing in this world..

Wonderful Truck
Ooops... Despite the bad mallu accent it was a wonderful trekk...
First good memory is about the food. Coffeee day coffees, Cafe coorg coffees, Coffee pub coffees and coffees at cloud valley ( http://www.cloudvalley.net/ ) was the major part of the diet, apart from the absolutes :) And ammo the delicious food at cloud valley whether its the pork or chicken or the egg curry or the coconut idlies. Gained 10 times the calory lost from the trekk. And the stay at cloud valley was wonderful with a 1895 home in coffee estate with 3big bedrooms..
And the trekk part ( Tadianmole) was really good. Constantly told by friends that it was avery easy trekk i was in a very relaxed mindset. The only thing i had prepared mentally was to tackle the leeches. And I knew that my friends who have seen me climbing Tirupathi hills will not risk my life for a heavy trekk. This confidence i had.
So started in full JOSH with my friends lagging behind by a mile. Reached the milestone ROCK first and started removing the leeches. Then only those morons revealed that its just a base camp and the real trekk starts from there.

Suddenly the fear, anxiety, doubts all creeped in. Bringing back the willpower started climbing singing Govinda Govinda. With rest every 10mins it was going okay in a slow pace.

And then reached the area where leech heaven exists. Need to cut through a small part through the mild jungle. Because of leeches we decide to go fast without rest and as speed as possible. And that fast lap I could complete ( almost dying in the process :) ).
From there I again became Anoop at Thirupathi.. Breathing out of control.. Legs not moving... Feeling dizzy... :) But somehow gained courage and started climbing few steps at a time.

And somehow with the company of all leeches and a wonderful dog who was always with us in the trip reached the heights.....
Was feeling in heaven with all clouds around you. And rain started pouring heavily. When the salt of ur sweat reaches in ur mouth along with the rain water its a wonderful feeling.. I did it.

On the way back found lots of gangs coming up - with beautiful girls and fat uncles climbing without any fuss.. I understood my lungs have to be updated. And I will be in the process of doing that now. Yanni started music very late and became very successful, who knows K2 may be my next target.
To be continued...

I am Sam
Back to my favourite passion.. movies
Could not see "Daivathirumagal" when it was running in theatres. So decided to watch the original - "I am Sam". Very nice movie. A 7 year old daughter is taken away from her father ( who has development disability ) and it shows his fight to get her back. And in the process he inspires his lawyer also to solve all the family problems....

Pirated Movies
I lost my Virginity. That was enough reason to start prostitution... :)
After buying Inception DVD for over 400Rs.. I decided to take a break from buying english movies. The price is too high for an Indian to buy.
So finally accepted the offer from Harish to get his 500 GB movies. If Harish, then why not limit to him. Had Vasu's and Anand's DVD also. Total 750GB of moviews.. Wow.
Saw
1. Rashomon
2. The Game

Still my principle holds ( no piracy) for the regional language movies, and new english movies. Forgive me, I cant resist this 800GB worth treasure..!
Wow.

Best advice I got back
Last day:
Me: I am sad, everybody scolds me.
Lachu: Your happiness should not depend on what others say. Whatever you should be happy... This is what you told me when mother scolded me......
Is she prem sai ? Will I get a share in the Sai empire ?
God Delusions - part 1
Lachu: Who is precious ?
Me: Everyone is precious
Lachu: God is precious. God made this earth.. alle amma ?
--
Today received a copy of "The Secret of the Nagas" - a fiction on the mythological character Shiva (God). I show Lachu back of the cover where it is written - "Today he is a GOD, 4000 years before he was a MAN".
--
Then Lachu started her speech " Everyone is precious. Plants and Animals are precious. We should not cut trees, we should not pluck flowers. Nature is precious. Earth is beautiful. We should enjoy the world. God is a man, but he is also precious".
( Good influence from her science textbook . I felt happy. These days I am against God )
---
After some time she again started... " God is precious. God made wings of birds.."
And the discussion continues.....

Lachuvum Nannum - GOD
Last week I told Lachu that there is NO GOD ( effects of reading God Delusion). She challenged me back asking me to read "Value Education". Her "Value Education" text book says lots of things about GOD.
And the thing that GOD may not exist seems to bother her. She is telling her friends and their families about my stupidity.
And this weekend.. she again took the topic back. She told me GOD is invisible and UP there. Whether its in Clouds, she said much above. About Ganapathi, Siva, Vishnu having shapes, she said she did not make them, it was bought!
Finally she became aggressive: "If you are teasing GOD, and if you do not believe in GOD then why did you visit GOD in Mysore ?
Hmm...........

Zindagi Na Dubara Milegi
Can we make road-trips compulsory before marriage ? So that engagements can be called off... ( oops.. spoilers behind :) )
What about married guys ? They need a real tough road-trip to rediscover themselves.

Rashomon
Rashomon - Beautiful film. Deals with the "subjectivity" of truth. One murder and four interpretations. Must see.
Haven't we also faced similar situations... Happenings in life.. And the interpretations are different.. We never want to make ourself look bad in our thoughts and view points. There will be a hero element in my part when i make up the story.. I will be the Dev-D, Vijay and Rahul in my story.
Other films watched this week incudes
- Rounders
- Harry Potter
and
- Zindagi Na Milega Dubara ( This one inspired me for a road trip.. But no bikes, scuba diving, parachoot and bull fights :) And also to call or mail all old friends )

Lachum Nannum - II
Anyway Lachu has categorically stated that: < She will not scold her husband the way her mother scolds her husband. She will only tell him. She says Love is important > Good wisdom :)
And she gave me a look.. "that i dont want a stupid guy like you" :)
Am I writing too many personal things ? Dont worry, I am faking it :)

Feynmann effect
Teaching Lachu has become easy after reading Feynnman books. She had an assignment yesterday to do - paste 3 kinds of leaves and tell their names. I plucked 3 types of leaves and was wondering what the trees names are ? Then remembered Feynmann. Its not important to remember all the names in chinese, english or sanskrit. It is more important to understand their behaviour and characteristics and the rational behind that. Me and lachu visited the tree sites :) and understood what they offer ! And didnt bother to give the names.

what do i want to do before i die ? i already did
What do I want to do before I die ? After pondering the question for a day I came back with the answer. Buy the full Tintin collection... And then realized that its too easy to 'realize' the dream. Bought from flipkart and now reading for the second time. So now I can die peacefully.
My other wishes:
1. Date with a premium actress ( It seems I need to buy them an 18 cr apartment to do that )
2. Love and Elope ( It will be adultery, but still its an unachieved dream )
If my other wishes doesnt come true, then will replace those with (1) Aesterix and (2) Calvin and Hobbes collection.

Red circles
Lachu has a new process. Whenever I scold her she puts a red circle on the day in the calendar. She wants to expose my double standards.. that i pretend to be a nice father who is a friend to my kid... Now July calendar is full of red circles. I hope it will become green for the rest of the month !

Will another 9/11 help ?
We Indians, Our government cant protect ourselves. The world super power America is interested only in a selective fight against terrorism. They dont care about attacks outside America, and the people who create trouble for us are their major allies in the "war against terrorism". Hope the same bastaards who bomb us do another 9/11 in america and let the world super power awake against these people...

Humps ahead
B'lore is hotter day by day ( not alone in terms of weather ).. Me a decent fellow gets pleasure in reading the literature in all the Tee-Shirts. Some are like stories which u dont get in one glance. And nowadays lots of caricatures are also there with the literature and you need to stare a while before getting the full picture.
Hope my intentions will not be misunderstood. No fuss

mysore - conclusion
I asked the sanest soul in my house what she liked in mysore. Her likings in descending order are:
(1) Hotel Stay: she likes to stay there forever
(2) Mysore palace... before i was too happy she said ... ballooons bought from mysore palace
(3) The other palace ( Jagmohan palace ) from where we bought purse and hats
(4) Brindavan dancing music garden... not that object.. but the Sare Jahan se music played.. she likes that song and is patriotic
Things she would like improvements in future are:
(1) Visit Wonderla
(2) If we had stayed there on monday also she could have avoided tuesday's unit test.
Cool....... Next where.. Coorg is calling me.

mysore trip - II
Its not over. Worst part is I bribed Chamundeswari Devi. After being a sheep in the herds of baba I thought I will never pray bribe again. But things dont work that way. There was long queue and a person there asked me whether I need special entry. I sais Yes, as I am less interested in gaining punya and although my daughter wants Punya she hates queues. So I got an easy entry paying 100Rs per head. Coming out felt guilty, but there was no guilt while going inside. What an opportunist!
And inside temple I was garlanded by Pujari also. I was happy and give him a 50Rs. So blessings are with me.
Compared to Tirupathi trip where I didnt visit the temple but climbed up Tirumala, God might be more pleased with the Tirumala. There I made some effort.
Anyway both decisions whether to do darshan of Chamundeswari or not do Tirupathi was not mine. It was destined to happen. Its my previous karma. And what is already destined here choses my next kharma also. Inside the Matrix you dont have any control.

Mysore Trip
Went to Mysore for a trip 1 week back .. last time visited mysore was in 8th std.
Cant remember exactly what all happened in liner order. Will state whatever pops out from my volatile memory stack....
Had a disastrous purchase from a fake Cavery emporium ( at Ramanashree hotel complex). Bought things for around 2000 Rs. Knew it while entering that its a fake shop. Wanted to buy something and bought it without bargaining or checking the quality. And later found that bought agarbathees worth 100Rs for 250Rs and so on. Good for the seller. Later compensated that by buying for another 2000Rs from original shop.
Good Masala Dosas at Paradise hotel. Very nice ones. Ate 4 ones each for 2 days making it 8 in total.
Everybody driver, wife and all the people I see was criticising for having 3 days and 2 nights at Mysore. Too many buffer getting added in projects is influencing me in real life also.
The only notable things saw was - Jagmohan palace and mysore palace.
I got 1 out of 10 for planning this trip. Disastrous ratings.
Next time visit Coorg or Oooty and sleep there. No more palace and garden visits.

Advices
These days I am not turning to others for advice ( except for the apartment buying case )... Too many advices received over these years and now well-wishers are wary of me approaching them with a problem.
Just refreshing the learnings I received over the years:
Be selfish: Take oxygen mask first, and then only you can save others. Enjoy more during hard times.
Be at present: This is what you have. Take it and make the best out of it
Stop complaining: You are responsible for your present and future. Stop complaining / threatening. Why disturb others ? ( My blog readers are less, so i hope this post will not be taken as complaining )
Find out what you want to do now and Do.
Thought of penning it down all the wisdom for my future years :)
These days "without advisers and well wishers" I motivate myself my seeing the hard truth in "planet earth" dvds. Life is tough and colurful.

Manusmriti
Found an interesting link on Manusmriti translation
Whether its "varnas" ( based on profession) or "castes" ( by birth) doesnt make difference. This is full of crap and outdated rules.
Hell with casteism.

Heard about butterfly effect ? Even a flap of butterfly wings can influence an event in the future like changing the direction of a tornado...
So what about dinosour effects ? Some 'dinosour' blunders keep you haunting always :)

Indian herd mentality
My friend was mentioning about this last week during our frequent office coffee sessions:
Our previous generation was obsessed with kid's future. Did everything to secure a future for their kids. Didnt bother about living a life for their own.
The current generation enjoys life - goes for trekking / trips, spends money, buy luxury car before house, takes care of health , concerned about retirement than kid's..
My friend says whatever indians do , they do it same. And in future all Indians will be concerned about corruptions and will be concerned about society rather than self. Then all Indians will do it together and India will be the best place in earth.. ( I believe the social responsibility factor has already started making waves )
India Zindabad !

Being Responsible
Its nice to be responsible for you and also for the society. Its nice to see many examples whom you know directly:
Throwing waste away to tracks while travelling in trains is a norm in India. But my friend and his family never dirties any public place. While on travel they carry a plastic bag in which they collect all used stuff and drop only at station. What difference it makes ? Only one family doing that among a billion people. But I know he doesnt care. They do what they have to do. I have tried to imitate many times this habit last 10 years. But may have done only 3-4 times.
My another friend never pays bribe or "fees" ( as they are called in the case of standard bribes). It doesnt matter his passport verification gets delayed for weeks or months or has to go and meet all senior police officers to get his verification done. He never pays the "fees" and I salute him for that.
Initially when friends started posting political views in facebook I was irritated. Facebook is for poking at girls and peeping at their photos. But the power of facebook was really seen in many of the activities that are happening. Whether its "promoting scientific temper", "supporting farmers" or "fight against corruption" facebook is playing a significant role. Its nice to see people whom you know are involved in these efforts - not only in facebook but beyond that taking part in dicussions, organising meetings, providing help and as last few days even fasting for a good cause.
It inspires you atleast not to pay bribe, be disciplined, drive carefully, obey laws. Atleast a "Like" in the facebook gives a feel good factor. India is certainly in the right direction.
N.B: One thing I dislike is fast until death. whoever is doing, for whatever cause I dont like. That is most abused figting method taken by all whether its for getting reservation, or for separating states or for getting any kinds of benefit. I support "Anna Hazare's fast" because my thoughts align with the cause. But still fasting need not be until death.

random notes
India winning worldcup gives me an empty feeling.. Why watch cricket now ? Wish India doesnt play one day match for another year...
What should be the reaction of a father when his 7 year old is asking a 6 year boy "Will you marry me ? ". Any book recommendation ?
Indian TV is shit. Afridi is correct. Just after winning worldcup, all shits are discussed - when will tendulkar retire ? , Is the trophy hander over was replica , is India going to dominate world cricket ? ( Hmm.. even without having TV connection I am watching all these hits in online sites. NO wonder why they are showing )
Again took "God delusion" .. Not able to read beyond Richard dawkins answering the review comments. All my atheist friends are rational and of high integrity. But all my relegious friends are very nice human beings. So whenever I took "God delusion" I start thinking of them and their beliefs. And as usual I dont have any stand/belief on this... :) I am agnostic on everything.

Language barriers are broken
B'lore is a cool place.. Most people can speak in atleast 3 of the 4 south indian languages and plus Hindi.. And kids learn bits and pieces of every. Lachu's maid has picked up malayalam well. And Lachu now mimicks her maid's malayalam accent !
Last day was listening to "Kanne Kalaimane" tamil song. Lachu came and asked - " Is this Malayalam, Tamil or Kannada" ? She can understand some words and some not.. Having stayed in tvm, chennai and b'lore and now being looked after by telugu maid.. her language now is "south indian" - no more malayalam, tamil, kannada or telugu.
May be now she needs a north indian boyfriend to teach her hindi ;)

The Social Network
Went for seeing Due_date, but couldn't resist the_social_network movie. Its been weeks since i logged into facebook, so thought of atleast seeing the movie. Movie is good. And after the movie did all google and find about all facebook founding stories..
Facebook/Orkut I stopped now. I was trying to get attention from all my well-wisehers by updating the status now and then ( unsuccessfully though ). Now called it quit ( atleast for few more months..). If anybody wants it let them ask me.
And had stopped my diary writing ( blogging.. ) also. But after the movie had to write atleast a few words..
All my friend morons are writing good posts - either Poems .. , travellogues.., good fancy imaginative stories.., shakespeare like literature etc etc.. Poor me, my vocabulary is as good as the "C" language....
I wish there was a "social network" site which could capture my mind and write itself...

What happens if I die now ?
What happens if i die now ? I am not concerned or have fear of my death. I am not concerned about the financial and support issues my dependends may face. The only query I have is - If I cease to exist ?
Will I go to Indralokha where all Menaka , Rambha, Thilathama lives and entertains us ?
Or will i go to Hell where i will be fried for the next million years ?
Or everything will come to end. My thought process will come to an end. From my view, the world will come to an end. Everything will become empty.
And for the world, they can grief the death for some time. The blogs / facebooks can carry my posts for some more time.
Anyway whatever it is - One thing I have decided. I should clean up my posts/scarps in blogs / facebooks / orkuts and twitters so that i have a better image when i die.

Boys turn men at 40, somebody said in today's Hindu newspaper. Looking at my immaturity level I dont see that feasible. Only few years remaining.
Trying to get matured.

Those who have it, can flaunt it ;)
B'lore gals dont mind revealing it when they have it. But poor me, I want to save the face of mallus. Mallus having a bad image, and reading all those mallu-behaviour blogs I stopped staring compeltely. My pressure gets released, when these gals get out of the bus. Hmm.. But the morons around me are no decent. They keep 'glancing' or 'staring' all the time. May be they are mallus.
Poor mallus!

Wrangler shirt and Pepe Jeans doesnt help..
It happened today also. This time at MK retail shop. I was buying lunch bag for lachu. One 50 plus guy came and caught the lunch bag in my hand. I was surprised and didnt give. He nodded me, and grabbed it. After looking for sometime in the bag, he asked me "bere ?". Hmm.. i said "sorry, i just came to purchase a bug". He looked at me and went away with the bag i wanted to purchase... I grabbed another one and escaped at the earliest. Looks doesnt matter.

Gopalan's True Show
Gopalan always wonder why the heck is world like this ? Why his compass always is towards south ? Why are the good ( or great ) things not happening to him. His call to his mind never find answers.
His maktub could have been nice to him.. Why it happens to him only ? What is wrong with him ?
He lost his belief in GOD and everything. He started blaming everything.
But when somebody turns nice to him, he feels guilty. He feels sorry about what he was thinking of them.
And one day - the D-Day happened. He was thinking too much. He didnt want to focus on driving, he crash landed into a VOLVO and he died.
Then the "utimate" thing happened. The world ceased to exist. The world was a figment of Gopalan's imagination. Everything was happening for him only. Everything was "maaya". The whole world existed for Gopalan only. All the characters were created for him only. They were just playing on the script Gopalan's mind was rendering out.
He was very sad. He became depressed. He could have had good dreams. His world would have been nice then.
GOD advised to him - "You Moron, have good dreams atleast here"!!!!!!

Gopalan decides to die..
Gopalan is having too much depressions these days. Poor Guy. Totally frustrated with the world around he decided to die. Being a software engineer he kept a counter of 100 which kept decremented each time he was drowned into depression.. And when the count reaches zero he will commit suicide.
The count started running fast and soon the count reached zero.... Then he added another piece of code which multipled the counter by 10 times of the previous initial value and re-started counters again..... and this went forever...
Hmmm.... Finally he was never able to die.. Endless loop!

(What got you here, will not get you there): (White Tiger)
Read two books during two weeks... This post is not a book review ( although I may tag it as one )
(1) What got you here, will not get you there:
(2) The White Tiger
First title, I came to know because my friend gifted this book to a friend of ours who was leaving the company ( and i gited "last lecture"!! ). I dont like reading that much "organisational behaviour" book because i feel i am a spontaneous person, who does random things, and somehow converges the actions to produce results. And i cant be tied up to manners/norms/rules. But still it doesnt hurt to know what experts say, choice is still ours. I felt it as a boring read, but atleast he has brought out some points which I agree whole heartedly. So i was kind of in sync with him. I dont what to disclose what are those points.. And he ofcourse has pointed out in that book many of my bad habits like favouritism, passing judgements, less listening habits. But over the years i think i have improved on these.... ( The book which is my favourite on this line is First break all the rules .)
"White Tiger" - I liked, just l liked slum dog. The life of "haves" and have-nots" is mentioned in a very nice manner. And when the have-not becomes the king, same story repeats. Kerala doesnt have land-lord stuff, so dont know whether these type of things happen in other parts of India. Anyway I liked it as a fiction.

Swine Flu
I bought Himalaya "Pure Hands" - Hand Sanitizer. And I am rubbing that on my palms, nails ... thats the only prevention taken.
But i can here lots of coughing, sneezing all around office, and can see people sneezing/coughing in public places, buses, trains. Hmm, Not all people have work from home option.
Not afraid of any kinds of flues. But dont want my sneezing to be of harm to any others.....

Jab we met - Part 2
Jab we met - Part 1 is here.
After long time, more than 1.5 years I travelled again in two-tier A/C to thiruvanathapuram. Its not that i cant afford it.. I travelled a lot in flight these time. But still train means sleeper, or at the most three-tier A/C. This time, I landed in a coupe with three girls. I had a strong feeling that the girls would ask me to move out - why i got that feeling i dont know, just instincts or past experiences.
Within 5 minutes they requested.., atleast this time the girl didnt call me uncle, also accompanied me till her original seat, and said both sorry and thank you. And I am in a coupe with two old lady doctors who are in their 60s. But it was fun listening to them, they were talking about all what happened to them in these 40 years after they completed their MBBS in trivandrum medical college. Recapping the handsome boys in the medical college, married life, husband's death, medicines that they take, Marriage requests after husband's death, Friends living all around the world, about children, brothers/sisters etc. And they are going for their class gettogether in thiruvanathapuram. It was nice listening.......
And they reserved me in advance to take their baggage out @ railway station which i did. I felt slightly bad as they didnt ask me my name. But then i realized, I also have not talked or asked anything to them, i just was listening all the time...
On return journey also, one of the lady was in compartment. She was going to chalakudy. And this time I went and helped her get down at chalakudy without she asking me.

Last Lecture
These days I am readng books like magazines.. I am just reading because i have no other thing to do. Read "Last Lecture". Got inspired for few minutes, and then did let it go. There are people will possitive frame of minds like Randy who needs to be adored.
There has to be someone like Hitler who categorize people based on frame of minds, and kill all the negative souls. Then world will be completely devoid of negative thoughts.. The possitive sperms and eggs will result in ultra possitive kids ........
Had listened to the "last lecture" a year back. So whatever i read or listen doesnt get into my mind or result as actions.....
But i found this beautiful review in my friend's blog . take a look, its aeasy read book. So even if you are negative, posstive or dontcare its a nice read....

Saturday Matinee Movie.. Hangover
Saw "Hangover" at PVR. It rocks! Each scene is funny and you can laught through out the movie........
The Alchemist.........
Found the Novel "The Alchemist" in philosophy section. Wanted to get some book to be read in the train journey back home to thiruvananthapuram. Picked up as i had heard that was a good read from several of my friends.....
In train I got totally immersed in that Novel. "Dreams of Santiago, the shepherd" and his journey to achieve the dreams was inspiring. Read around 70 pages. Was feeling myself just in the shoes of "Santiago". In the pursuit of dreams, but reached half-way, leaving all the loved ones ( sheeps and lover!), and found myself washing the crystals in shop confused on whether to pursue for the dreams, or go back where you are used to....
I had a strong feeling that I should also be an adventurer like him in pursuit of treasure.., and not feel like a victim.
Then like always the good feeling remained only for a short time. The feeling of loser and victim again conquered me.... Threw the book away....
On saturday night, sleep was not coming. So took the book again.. The remaining pages were not that interesting. But still interesting to keep the pages moving... Finally I liked the climax. Pursuing for dreams all around world, and finding it at the place where the journey started. And it also reminded me to enjoy all kinds of days - whether good or bad. Each day is different, and it needs to be enjoyed.
Hmm.. with possitive mindset I started my journey back to Bangalore. At Thirunelvelli the bus stopped for dinner at 10pm. I had the hang-over of "Sivakashi" movie. And 7-8 steps from the bus I found myself in a waste water drainage ( gutter ). One slab was missing, and Anoop didnt realize and fell into the trap. I landed in two legs, and found myself lucky not to have hit my chest or head. I said to everyone - "I am fine", but nobody cared! One guy told me where i can find water to wash my legs and chappals.
Travel continued... Alchemist gave me the necessary enthu to enjoy the new experience.. !
And then back in bangalore... Feeling myself as the "crystal merchant", and not as "santiago" the hero. Myself I am inproving my attittude towards life. But too old to receive the omens send to me ( or omens are not coming at all).. And no dreams except day-to-day life. Feeling afraid of the new things coming in life, and just want to settle with the old things. Dont like to realize that I can achieve more, and should pursue for dreams. I seem to be happy ( or unhappy) with the way I am now..
Thats depressing.. I want to be "Santiago".
So bought the next book.. for next week's travel - "The Last Lecture"!!

>>>>>> Saturday Movies <<<<<<<<
Was virtually @ Forum this saturday. Saw two movies - "Newyork" for morning show, and "Transformers" for first show.
"Newyork" is a brave attempt. Casting is superb. First half was very interesting - post 9/11 life of indian muslims in america. But second-half execution was weak, and it resembled a average hindi movie.
"Transformers" - animation is superb, but i wish the film was 40 minutes shorter. Megatron dying and living, Optimus dying and then living... why show all the same stuff again and again... Do some good graphics and animations.. and entertain for 1.5 hours. Never make these movies this longer.
Was looking for "Harry Potter" tickets for sunday. But didnt get. Is Bangalore under recession ? No way - Forums and Malls and Multiplexes are full... and eating outlets you have to wait in queue to find a place. Recession was never here............

Kidney, Neck and Nose
My nose is completely gone. Cant smell for the last 5-6 years. In a way its good. Neck now it has started continous pain, last 12 years in software and bad living habits. And kidney... i can feel kidney or intestine is not working well..
i am not compaining.. i am just thining of my priorities. should i attack kidney first, or nose or neck ? i can live with one kidney, as far as i breathe i am okay with nose also. i somehow wants to get back my old good neck.
my neck started getting damaged with the frequent sleeping in grove apartments sofa.. and that habit continued even after leaving grove.....
Lets see....... I want to survive the health threats posed by middle aged indian guy.

I moved out of HI5 when it started corrupting me, and now moving out of orkut when i started corrupting it. Went to facebook, and started using it. Nobody reads my blogs, facebook is a way to force people listen to what i say. I hope to keep facebook for known friends only.
Moved to twitter now just out of curiosity. A delhi nair Shashi Tharoor is active in it. So why not a real changanacherry nair ?

Veruthe Oru Bharya, Innathe Chintha vishayam, Vinodhayathra, Bhagya Devatha
Except for vinodhayathra, i saw all the other three films in subject line recently -
"Innathe chintha vishayam" i wanted to see despite bad reviews, as i liked "vinodha yathra". vinodha yathra many didnt like. but i liked it. Like Vinodh ( Dileep) in the movie who learnt a ot of from Meera, i also learnt some tips and truths in life. But "innathe chinthavishayam" is a junk movie. Nothing in that. Some made up story.
"Bhagya Devatha" is a nice film, narrated in a simple manner. beauty of kuttanad is fully picturised. I have seen many people marrying inorder to start a career or business by getting dowry from wife's side. And Jayaram lives in that role very well. "Veruthe Oru Bharya" i immediately bought a VCD, as i had missed that film. And "Bhagya devatha" gave me the necessary momentum to see that film. And first half is narrated very well. Gopika is truly great. But second half disappointed me. It didnt have a good script. You dont have to make the husband a mental person for husband-wife reunion to take place. I saw the second half in 10 mins.

In trivandrum it was full of power-cuts, then i bought an invertor, suddenly kerala govt stopped power cuts.
Here in bangalore we had power cuts everyday from 6-7am. since i have to leave office @ 7am have to bath in the cold water as the greaser doesnt hav power. So today woke up @ 5:30, and was ready by 6am. Then suddently no power cut. What is this ?
My Motto: Me suffering, everyone should suffer.

"Taare Zameen Par" therapy
Lachu is being given a different copy of the same text books as days of this school year go by, but she is not learning. Now she has three sets of text books. Anyway i am not the culprit behind that therapy. She also gets a new "set" of pencils every alternate days. Poor kid.
I tried "7 habits for happy kids" on her. NO USE ;) And now made her see "Taare Zameen Par". Finally it has effects. Today she wrote "boat" as "dooa" in class notebooks. Trying hard to imitate the hero-boy in that movie! Curse me, and my methods.

7 Habits For Me

First I read 7 habits for "aged people", then tried "teenagers". Nothing changed. So now bought "7 habits for happy kids.. Great stories. Lachu liked the stories. But she is happy as she is, and just want the stories. Dont want to make those habits..
But if i now say "i am bored", she asks me "Are you like sammy?" The hero in the first story who is bored, bored and bored, and wants others to help him out. But finally in the story he realizes no use in complaining, and only he can help him out. Be Proactive!
But i cant. I need to complain. The best place is this blog. I AM BORED, BORED, BORED........

Travels..
Travelling every week these days.. I used to like being alone.. I used to like dreaming.. So being in bus or train I used to enjoy a lot. Nowadays not enjoying that.. On the way home, may be its just tensions on how to make lachu do all the home work; and on back to office tensions on clearing up all the pending work..
This week in train, it was totally frustrating. Read the magazines "Open" and "Tehelka" as soon as i got into ( These days not buying "India today" or "Outlook" ).
Observing different types of people is interesting.. So started observing them.
A hi-fi "north-indian" look, malayalee family was there speaking english. From the minute they boarded train started eating cookies ,wafers, and all the snacks forcing me to have early dinner.
Some "un-reserved" people were also there travelling to "erode" and "salem". They knew that its a "reserved" compartment only after boarding. ( Thanks to Velu's and Balu's all compartments of Kochu Velli express are so dirty that nobody can identify as its a reserved compartment. Hope Ahamed Sahib will make a change for kerala). After knowing that its a reserved compartment, they went to non-reserved compartment but came back soon as the non-reserved was too full.
The person who was sitting in the sideberth was occupying only 20% of his lower berth. So 3 more people occupied his berth. And it was fun seeing him pushed by non-reserved passengers and the way he co-operates. I was like this perhaps 5-6 years back. Now life has made me arrogant enough so that i can thrash people if they try to intrude to my area. Anyway the non-reserved people won and our poor fellow was having only 1/4th of the berth.
When the TTE came nonreserved ladies started the drama.. They told him its the first time they are travelling on the train, and dont know the difference btw these.. Anyway the next stop is only salem and TTE or them doesnt have any other option.. So the ladies stayed. Since the precedent is laid, the unreserved men in sideberth also didnt have to argue to TTE.
After the TTE came , attittude of non-reserved people to the reserved gentleman in sideberth increased. They now only came to know the man who they were kicking is the owner of the berth. The kicking still continued, but with more respect now.
At Salem TTE kicked out all the unreserved ( non-reserved - i dont know which one is correcr, i keep changing the usage ) were driven out of the compartment. It started boring for me. I tried to sleep in my upper berth. But sleep was not coming.... It took me another 3-4 hours to sleep.
But once sleep is achieved, you have peace, till i woke up when it was nearing allapuzha station... I wanted a Tea, luckily I got a Tea and allapuzha and Paper at Kollam. Got to read "Indian Express" after along time. That paper is dead boring now. Lost its charm. And it didnt have the results of India , WestIndies T20 match also..
Soon it reached Kochu Velli and another boring interesting journey come to and end.
This week in train, it was totally frustrating. Read the magazines "Open" and "Tehelka" as soon as i got into ( These days not buying "India today" or "Outlook" ).
Observing different types of people is interesting.. So started observing them.

The Leader In Me
Bought and Read a new book from Stephen Covey - "Leader in Me". Waste of money. It just states in 200 odd pages the names of some schoold who implemented 7 habits in curicullam.., and how the results improved.
I didnt get what i wanted from the book.... I was hoping to get some compass for guiding my child.. But the compass is still "7 habits", so just read that book..
I saw the advt of "7 habits for happy kids" in that book.. May be will try that also.. Better to give her emotional strength at an early age, than late thirties...

2 Harihar Nagar
This time also lachu didnt allow to see me the second half..... She was too bored once the first half was over.
The first half was quite interesting... although some "thara" thamashakal, but i was laughing aloud. And the 1st half ended with the predicted suspense.. " Honai speaking..".
But the Lays, biscuits and Frooty couldnt make lachu sit for the second half. She couldnt take the violence and she started asking "where is the tamasha ? "
Anyway me and her were happily standing outside eating Gems and Kurkure for the second half.
I was hoping to see the film alone once i am back in bangalore.. But my wife broke away the suspense while returning back.. and so i saved a 150Rs PVR tickets.. Now i am not in the mood to see the film...
For those who have seen In Harihar Nagar, the second one would be a good see....
Today there was "Chocolate" film in TV, and lachu is seeing that for 5th time. It seems that her taste is in romance and she doesnt like the elder artists in malayam industry - mamootty, mohanlal, mukesh etc etc..... Hope new heroes will come to suit the "kid" generation like her.....

she has a "BIG".......
Archies @ Forum has a 50% discount. So after coming out of the Dilli-6 movie me and my friend decided to take a look inside archies. Lots of bangalorian girls in Tshirts and Jeans shopping around...
I finally bought a very cute, huggable teddy bear for 125Rs at half the price.. And i was explaining to my friend the very large no. of teddy bears my daughter has, and expecially the two very BIG teddy bears she has.....
I was in the queue behind lot of good looking ladies for paying cash.. And I said to my friend.. "she has BIG............." and suddenly i stopped. I have this habit of stopping conversations in between and going to idle loop. May be i dont get the correct words, or i feel its not important to complete the sentences....
After few seconds my friend started laughing.. The girls in front of me had turned back and were looking at me... It seems they were looking sharply at me for my remarks : "she has a BIG....", and i was looking somewhere down, and resting peacefully in my idle loop.
Luckily for me, the girls in front of me didnt have anything BIG... :) so i escaped. They may have thought that i am commenting on someone else..
Anyway i escaped.. Better to improve my english and communication skills.. it will help me atleast not to get beatings .. or i shuld be in silent mode rather than partially completed dangerous sentences....

Dilli 6
Dilli 6 I saw despite the bad reviews, because Rang De Basanti was/is a very fascinating movie and I didnt want to miss the director's next one.
The movie is see-able; The concept and execution of the movie i felt really complicated; Expecially ending ; It should not have been made so serious and should have been more fun and romantic; I dont like film makers exploiting so much emotions...

SlumDog Millionaire..
Saw slumdog millionaire..... Instead of writing up a review, i thought i will link to a review done by a non-Indian http://thegoodflea.com/2009/01/slum-dog-millionaire-review.html.
The movie is a good masala film. It projects every bad things in India in a very well manner! Surely West will enjoy.
Also I liked the film. Its the first "outsourced" film ; well we indians are ready to give up IT and BPOs and take up films as career!!

Mutual Funds...
These funds account for 88% of my MF investments:
DSPBR Top 100 Equity Reg-G
Fidelity Equity-G
Fidelity Tax Advantage-D
HDFC Top 200-G
Magnum Taxgain-D
Reliance Growth-G
There are another set of funds which account for my 12% and which i want to clear it off once Market goes up and reaches 20K again... Hope that comes soon :)
Currently running at a 33% loss, but still investing systematically.. The money will certainly grow... But is this a correct/ethical way of investing ?
I invest my money for long-term. But does any value-addition happens because of my investments ?

Houston, We have a problem
Who says films are bad ? Every time I see Apollo 13 film I get inspired. Thanks HBO< let me have a good sleep now.
Motivational stuff.....
When I need personal focus, I look for the book "7 habits of highly effective people", and for office stuff - "First break all the rules".
Despite having this and re-reading this doesnt improve.
So i am made a smart move. I had only a pirated version of "First break all the rules". I bought the original ysterday.
Also i bought a "7 habits personal handbook".
Let me see whether that helps....!
( anyway i am avoiding piracy now. I am buying only original DVDs/VCDs/Books now. And destroyed all the pirated ones i have. Good, right ? Hmm, But still i have the music mp3s. )

Rab ne Bana di Jodi
Celebrated new year in a not so good way. Saw "Rab ne Bana di Jodi"
I didnt like any of the characters in the film.
The scenes i liked -
1. Hole Hole song
2. Some of the dance teaching scenes
3. And shah-rukh's dialogue when the japan trip photos are shown in last scene.
I shuld hav opted for Ghajini.....
